Child Safety Standards
These are the standards of SpawnPoint, the app published on Google Play by ESGR Studios Private Limited, against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Note to the owner (shown only while the draft banner is on). Google's Child Safety Standards policy requires the app to comply with child-safety laws and to act on CSAM, and the Play Console declaration asks you to confirm this. The sentence under "Working with authorities" is controlled by childSafetyReportingProcessInPlace in site-config.json. It defaults to "we are establishing…". Set it to true, and make the declaration, only when a staffed process really exists to review these reports, to report confirmed CSAM to the competent authority, and to answer the contact below. The app and developer names on this page must match the Google Play listing exactly, and the contact below must be a real, monitored one.
Our standard: zero tolerance
SpawnPoint prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation in every form. A child is anyone under 18. On SpawnPoint nobody may:
- create, send, store, share, request or link to child sexual abuse material, whether real, edited or generated;
- sexualise a child in text, images, audio or video;
- groom a child: build trust with a child, or with their family, in order to abuse or exploit them;
- send sexual messages to a child or ask a child for sexual images or acts;
- threaten or blackmail a child with intimate images (sextortion);
- traffic, sell or advertise a child for sexual purposes;
- run or join a group or community for any of these purposes.
All sexual content is prohibited on SpawnPoint in any case; see the Community Rules. SpawnPoint is not directed at children, and people under 13 may not use it.
How to report in the app
You can report without leaving SpawnPoint:
- Touch and hold the message and choose Report. To report a person, a group or a community instead, open its chat, profile or info page and choose Report.
- Choose the category Child safety.
- Add what you know, and send. You receive a report number, and the report appears under You > Safety.
The person you report is not told who reported them, and is blocked for you unless you choose otherwise. You can also write to the child-safety contact below.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first. Do not download, screenshot or forward abuse material to anyone, not even to us; report it in the app instead.
How reports are handled
- Child-safety reports go to the most urgent queue. Our target is to review them within 1 hour, and no later than 24 hours.
- Every child-safety report and what was attached to it is preserved from the moment it is filed and is not deleted on the usual schedule, so that it stays available for the authorities.
- When several different, established accounts report the same account for child safety, the account is automatically suspended as a precaution and removed from the groups and communities of the people who reported it, before a person has reviewed the report. A group or community reported in the same way is disabled.
- When we confirm a violation, we remove the content we are able to remove, ban the account for good, and remove the group or community. A ban follows the phone number.
Messages and media on SpawnPoint are end-to-end encrypted. We do not scan private messages and cannot read them, so we depend on reports from users to learn about abuse.
Working with authorities
ESGR Studios Private Limited complies with the child-safety laws that apply to it. When we obtain actual knowledge of child sexual abuse material on SpawnPoint, we remove it and report it to the competent authority as the law requires, including the relevant national authority or the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable, and we preserve and provide the related records in response to valid legal requests.
We are establishing our process for reporting confirmed child sexual abuse material to the competent authorities and for meeting the child-safety laws that apply to us. Until that process is in place, this page does not claim that it is. We already preserve every child-safety report and can produce the related account records for a lawful request.
