Community Rules
These rules apply to everything on SpawnPoint: messages, voice notes, media, statuses, looking-for-group posts, profiles, names, groups and communities. They are part of the Terms of Service. SpawnPoint is operated by ESGR Studios Private Limited.
What is not allowed
Child sexual abuse and exploitation
Any content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers a child (anyone under 18) is forbidden. This includes sexual images or videos of children, real or generated; sexual messages to a child; grooming (building a relationship with a child in order to abuse them); sextortion; trading or asking for such material; and sexualising children in any way. See our Child Safety Standards.
Sexual content
Sexual content is not allowed anywhere on SpawnPoint. This includes pornography, nudity shown for sexual purposes, sexually explicit text, images, audio or video, and offering or asking for sexual services. There is no age check in the app, so there are no adult-only spaces.
Intimate images shared without consent
Do not share, or threaten to share, intimate or sexual images or videos of a person without their consent. This includes edited, faked or generated images that show a real person in an intimate way.
Harassment and bullying
Do not target a person with repeated unwanted contact, insults, humiliation, sexual advances or intimidation, and do not organise or encourage others to do so.
Hate
Do not attack, demean or call for the exclusion of people because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, caste, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or serious illness. Hateful names, symbols and slurs are included.
Threats and violence
Do not threaten to hurt or kill anyone, encourage violence against a person or group, or share content that celebrates serious violence against real people.
Violent extremism
Do not promote, recruit for, fund or praise terrorist or violent extremist groups or their acts, or share their propaganda.
Promoting self-harm
Do not encourage or instruct anyone to hurt or kill themselves, and do not mock someone who is at risk. Talking about your own struggles or supporting a friend is allowed. If you are worried about someone, report it under "Self-harm or suicide": the person is not punished for such a report. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
Illegal goods and activities
Do not use SpawnPoint to sell, buy or arrange illegal drugs, weapons, stolen goods or accounts, counterfeit goods, or any other illegal product or service, or to plan or carry out a crime.
Spam and scams
Do not send unwanted bulk messages or invitations, add people to groups they did not agree to join, post deceptive links, run fake giveaways, phishing or other schemes that trick people out of money, accounts or personal information, or use automation to do any of this.
Impersonation
Do not pretend to be another person, a company, or SpawnPoint or its staff. Names that pose as SpawnPoint support, administrators or moderators are refused.
Privacy violations and doxxing
Do not share someone's private information without their consent, such as their home address, phone number, identity documents, financial details, private photos or their location, and do not threaten to.
Intellectual-property infringement
Do not share content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights, including pirated games, cheats sold in breach of a game's terms, cracked software and leaked paid content. Rights holders can send a notice as described under Grievance and contact.
How to report and block in the app
Report
- A message: touch and hold the message, then choose Report.
- A person: open the chat with them or their profile, then choose Report.
- A group or community: open its info page, then choose Report group or Report community.
- Choose the category that fits, for example "Child safety", "Private images shared without consent" or "Spam or scam". You can add a description.
- Send. You get a report number, and the report is listed under You > Safety.
SpawnPoint cannot read your chats, so a report contains only what you include: the category, your words and the messages you choose to attach. The person you report is never told who reported them.
Block
- A person: open the chat or their profile and choose Block. A blocked person cannot message you or add you to groups, and is not told. Reporting a person or a message also blocks them unless you choose otherwise.
- A group or community: open its info page and choose Leave and block. Nobody can add you back, even with an invitation.
- Undo either under Settings > Blocked.
You can also write to spawnpoint.app@esgr.studio.
What enforcement looks like
Depending on what happened, how serious it is and whether it has happened before:
- Content removal: a message, status or media post is deleted for everyone; or a display name, About text, game ID, profile photo, group name or community name is reset.
- Warning: a notice on the account, with no loss of features.
- Limit: for a time the account cannot start new chats, create or join groups and communities, or add people. Existing chats keep working.
- Suspension: the account cannot be used for a set time (for example 7, 14 or 30 days).
- Ban: the account is closed for good. A ban follows the phone number, also after the account is deleted.
- Groups and communities: sending can be frozen for a time; a space can be disabled until an appeal succeeds; in the most serious cases it is removed and its invitations stop working.
Repeated violations lead to stronger steps. The most serious categories, such as child safety, non-consensual intimate images and threats of violence, lead to the strongest steps first.
Some steps are automatic
Because chats are end-to-end encrypted, SpawnPoint does not scan your messages. Some enforcement steps are taken automatically, without a person looking first, when enough different, established accounts report the same account, message or space within a short period. For example, a message in a group can be removed when several members report it or when one of the group's administrators reports it, and an account reported by several people for a serious category can be suspended for a time as a precaution. The automatic rules count who reported and in what setting; they do not judge the content itself. Reports from brand-new accounts, from accounts created together, and from people who repeatedly file rejected reports count for less or not at all. Abusing the report button is itself against these rules.
When a restriction applies to your account, the app shows it under You > Safety: what kind it is, the category, whether it was automatic, whether it is a precaution, and when it ends. It never shows who reported you or how many people did.
How to appeal
- Open You > Safety in the app. A suspended or banned account can still open this page.
- Choose the decision and tap Appeal this decision.
- Explain in your own words what happened, and send. SpawnPoint cannot read your chats, so your explanation matters.
- You can appeal each decision once, within 180 days.
- An appeal against a decision that a person made is decided by a different person.
- An appeal against a minor automatic restriction (such as one for spam) is lifted automatically if no further reports about the same thing arrive in the 72 hours after the appeal. Other appeals wait for a person to review them.
- If an appeal succeeds, the restriction and its strike are removed. A message that was removed cannot be restored, because the encrypted data is erased.
