Delete your SpawnPoint account
This page is for the SpawnPoint app by ESGR Studios Private Limited on Google Play. You can ask for your account and its data to be deleted in the app or right here, without the app.
Note to the owner (shown only while the draft banner is on). The hold period, the in-app path and the two lists below come from site-config.json (deletion) and must match the server setting and the shipped app. The form works only after the API origin and the Firebase web config are filled in, this site's origin is added to the server's SEAL_ORIGINS, and its domain is an authorised domain in Firebase Authentication. See the README.
Before you delete
- A Google Play subscription is not cancelled by deleting your account. Google Play keeps charging until you cancel it yourself in Google Play subscriptions.
- If you own a group or a community, pass ownership to another member first. This can only be done in the app.
- Deletion is permanent. Your chat history on your phone, and a chat backup in your own Google Drive, are not removed by us: delete the app's data and the backup yourself if you want them gone.
Delete in the app
- Open SpawnPoint and go to You > Account > Delete account.
- Read what will be deleted and what is kept. If you have a Google Play subscription, use the link shown there to cancel it.
- Confirm with your phone number.
Delete here, without the app
You need the phone that receives SMS for the number of your SpawnPoint account. We verify the number with a code, exactly as the app does when you sign in.
Step 1 of 3: Your phone number
Step 2 of 3: Enter the code
Step 3 of 3: Confirm deletion
Request received
Your receipt. Copy it and keep it: it is the only way to check the progress later, and we cannot show it again. It is valid for 30 days.
If you have a Google Play subscription, cancel it now in Google Play subscriptions.
Check a deletion request
Paste the receipt you were given when you asked for deletion, in the app or on this page.
What happens when you delete
Hold period: 30 days. When you confirm, the account is closed and you are signed out everywhere. For 30 days nothing is erased yet, so that a deletion made by mistake, or by someone else who got hold of your phone, can be undone. To cancel the deletion, sign in to the app again with the same phone number during the hold period. When the hold ends, erasure starts by itself.
There is no hold period. Erasure starts as soon as you confirm and cannot be cancelled.
Once erasure starts it is designed to finish within 24 hours. This is real deletion, not a deactivation. Afterwards the phone number can be used to create a new, empty account.
What is deleted
- Your profile: phone number, name, About text, profile photo, game IDs, settings, plan and your acceptance of the terms
- Your sign-in record with Firebase Authentication (your phone number)
- Your devices, sessions, notification tokens and two-step verification PIN record
- Your saved contacts, chat preferences and online status
- Your event log (the list of updates waiting for your devices)
- Blocks you placed on people, groups and communities
- Your statuses and looking-for-group posts
- Your memberships of groups and communities, and your read receipts
- Media you uploaded, and the stored encrypted files
- The purchase records we hold (this does not cancel the Google Play subscription)
What is kept, why, and for how long
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| An empty account marker: an internal ID and the dates of deletion | So that other people's chats show "deleted account" instead of breaking | No fixed end. It holds no phone number, name or photo |
| Messages you sent to other people, and reactions on them, as encrypted data under your internal ID | They are part of the other participants' conversations | Until those conversations' own rules delete them (for example disappearing messages, or a participant deleting them) |
| Safety reports made by you or about you, the evidence attached to them, and the decisions taken | Safety and legal compliance | 180 days after the report is closed; longer while a report is preserved for an authority |
| Safety standing: strikes, restrictions, a ban, and groups you may not be added to again | Security and abuse prevention, so that deleting an account does not erase a ban | Kept with the reports; a ban has no end |
| A one-way digest of your phone number, only if the account had a ban, a running restriction or strike, or a block placed on it by someone else | Security and abuse prevention, so the ban, restriction or block still applies if the number registers again | Until the restriction or strike ends (a block by someone else: 180 days); a ban has no end. An account with a clean record leaves no such digest |
| Blocks and community bans that other people placed on your account | They belong to the people who placed them | No fixed end |
| The deletion receipt (stored only as a digest) | So you can confirm that the deletion happened | 30 days after the request |
| An audit record that a deletion took place (date and channel; no phone number, name or content) | To be able to show that deletion requests are carried out | 180 days after the deletion was completed or cancelled |
Messages you sent stay end-to-end encrypted: we could not read them before and cannot read them afterwards. The Privacy Policy has the full retention table.
If you cannot use the app or this form
For example if you own a group or community and no longer have the app, or you no longer have the phone number: email spawnpoint.app@esgr.studio. Tell us the phone number of the account with its country code. We will need to confirm that the account is yours before we delete anything.
